As I joined with thousands of Indonesia people, members, PDI Perjuangan supporter in Bali, I know that there were huge spirit and love for their leader Megawati Soekarnoputri.
It was in opposite with middle class and upper class citizens of Indonesia who wrote a letter to the Jakarta Post accusing Megawati, the PDI Perjuangan party as undemocratic. They defenitely Wrong. Because of their ignorant of party politics and their limited experience with party’s grassroots.

I believe who wrote letters to the Jakarta post do not have any member card of any party, never have been involve in local or national politics. They do not aware of political culture of Indonesia, so very different with the political system of what so called “western” democratic.

Indonesia has it own democracy with state in 4th principle of Pancasila “People that lead with Deliberation of inner wisdom that deliberate through representation of the people”. It’s democracy that do not have distinction of minority and mayority, that is why certainly not in favour of decision by Voting. It choice of democratic has its foundation of Indoensia as the most plural country in the world. It was chosen by the founding father as a way not to ignore or neglecting the small amount people with particular background (ethnic,religion,economic).

But nowadays, 12 years after the reformation, Indonesia is far and away from its nation roots.That is why, Megawati Soekarnoputri the one who have great awareness of this situation has been chosen again by its Congress participant and her Openin Address become a manifesto.

Her opening address as manifesto clearly declare that PDI Perjuangan ideology is Pancasila with its spirit of Pancasila June 1, 1945.The choice as ideological party as path, and its not an easy choice. The choice that have made in growing of pragmatism society, where people live in suffering and continue to suffer, while their political participation is merely count for nothing more that few thousands rupiah..

The affirmation to keep on the Pancasila as party ideology has it roots, after all Soekarno has stated “Pancasila adalah lebih memenuhi kebutuhan manusia dan lebih menyelamatkan manusia, daripada Declaration of Independence America, atau Manifesto Komunis, Pancasila adalah “pengangkatan ke taraf yang lebih tinggi”, “hogere optrekking”, daripada Declaration of Indpendence dan Manifesto Komunis (Soekarno, Jarek- Jalannya Revolusi Kita)–Pancasila is more adequate for human needs and can save human than Declaration of Indepence or Communist Manifesto”…

And now, after what we saw from telvision how the current government practiced “procedure democratic” of which most of them only tried to copy-paste a democratic system of American. As the opponet of the ruling government, party of PDI Perjuangan know that what has been shown is a pseudo democratic, and not Indonesia democracy. Indonesia democracy is DEMOCRACY BUILT BY WISDOM AS SAID IN STATE PRINCIPLES OF PANCASILA, Principle of number four That Democracy deliberative from Wisdom of dialogue among people’s and leaders (Permusywaratan yang dipimpin oleh Hikmah Kebijaksanaan dalam Permusyawaratan dan Perwakilan). The dialogue has nothing so called majority minority as in wester American government. Its that why in American democratic system they always followed DECISION by voting. In context of INDONESIA, Voting, where the majority of Votes can be A DECISION MAKER, WHEN IT CAMES TO Certain DECISION of which needs to take by all of Indonesian, of Course the MOST POPULATED LAND- The Java Will be A WINNER, A DECISION MAKER, due to its numbers. @umi lasminah, tobe continue
